Questions and answers

What buyers ask us most often. If your question is not here, call or write.

Fabric

What is worsted fabric?

Cloth woven from combed yarn: the fibres are laid parallel and the short ones removed. The result is smooth, dense and durable, which is why worsted is used for uniforms and suits.

Why blend wool with polyester?

Wool gives warmth, breathability and drape; polyester adds strength and abrasion resistance and helps the cloth keep its shape. Blends suit uniforms that are worn every day.

Which standards do you test to?

International ISO methods: ISO 3801 for weight, ISO 13934-1 for breaking force, ISO 12947-2 for abrasion, ISO 12945-2 for pilling, ISO 5077 for dimensional change after washing and the ISO 105 series for colour fastness.

What does low-shrink mean?

The cloth is stabilised in finishing, so garments keep their size after washing or dry cleaning.
